Can someone explain to me the number of 911 operators in So-Cal?

It's either handled by fire departmen's in some areas or by private ambulance companies (AMR is the largest).
Aside from that there is a large number of 911 providers in Socal.
Can you be more specific on what you would like to know?

In LA, Orange, and San Diego Counties, it's all fire based. In LA/OC if a FD contracts with a private company for transport, it's only a BLS ambulance showing up while the paramedics are firefighters. San Diego is either all fire, or they'll contract with AMR or Rural/Metro, and they'll have a fire medic, and a private medic on the ambulance, I think whoever gets there first is the medic in charge, and Riverside and San Bernardino Counties are similar with FD paramedic response to all medical calls and an AMR paramedic ambulance as well, but I'm MUCH more fuzzy on the Inland Empire county's way of doing things, so someone correct me if I'm wrong lol

There's about a million different ways of responding for the Riverside/San bernadino area. Some areas fire also does the transport and in other areas they don't. In SB during the night, mostly, fire won't respond to every medical call so it may just be AMR on scene.
Some areas fire is BLS and other areas they are ALS. Some areas fire only responds with a squad while in others they respond in an engine, truck, or brush unit.
