Ok so I got hired 2 weeks at a company. They had me go get a drug test and get my LA DOT permit which i turned in last friday. The manager wasn't there and the receptionist said that he will call me. I figured ok well I know I won't get a call during the weekend probably on monday. Well now its tuesday and i'm thinking I should call but I don't want to seem to pushy and he could just be really busy. I'm not really sure what I should do.

Call! Good luck!

Give em a call. It's getting close to Christmas so be prepared for everybody who knows what's going on to be out of town.

I would call if I were you. The receptionist will pass along the message to management. They probably just forgot. Btw, is this company out of Glendale?

Amen sir.....Amen.

wait, that came out wrong. What I meant was there is so much BS to wade through when all we want to do is help. But to me it's worth the hassle. BE THE SQUEAKY WHEEL! sp?

Or you could be a pessimist...

There are 3024588320573420 EMTs and Medics in the US with many of them being in CA. Things take time.

With that said, give them a call.

Personal experience. I was hired in the end of August, didn't start my field training time until recently at the agency I work at. Worked some random events and lab days for the current EMT class but that was it.

@dmnranch.......I get what you're saying and I agree 100%

So i'm super bummed now. I called them and they told me that since I turned in my DOT later compared to other people that all their spots got filled which is why they didn't call me. They said they would call me in a couple of weeks. Does this usually happen?

Apply elsewhere.

Take the best offer and graciously respond to other company's responses afterwards that you have already found employment. It's all business, you don't have to make anyone feel good.

So now you know the drill: the prize goes to those who dot all their "i"s and cross their "t's in the timeliest manner.

Once you begin DO NOT slack off in the least!

For future reference, step your game up and show some initiative. I got all my stuff done in 2 days and not only called them back incessantly, but also stopped by to give them all the paperwork and show them my motivation. I hope things work out for you though.
