Ran a red light just before taking ambulance driver test

Bummer! But does it count for points on your license? It didn't here even when they did issue "real" tickets. They were ruled illegall here and all the tickets got thrown out and cameras removed.

its 1 point on your record. if you choose traffic school the point gets wiped and you waste about 1 hour online taking traffic tests

Correct me if I am wrong, but a right on red in ca is legal, assuming you stopped first.

Provided there isn't a sign prohibiting the turn, yet. However, technically speaking, the full stop has to be made before entering the crosswalk, if not present a limit line, and if both of those aren't present then before the intersection. Most people roll through the crosswalk, thus running the red light under a strict reading of the vehicle code.

Negative Ghostrider. That's a quick way to pickup another charge and $500+ (including a $300 civil penalty). It's LA City that is dropping enforcement and followup, not LA County.

Let me educate you and everyone else on LA County. Court in LA County will not forward this ticket to dmv, no arrest warrant will be issued, dl will not be suspended and your registration will not be suspended. Yes it will go to collection but being you never signed anything there is nothing they can do about it.

I stopped at a green light. Do I have a chance?

They work that fast?! You wont get the point until you go to court and you're convicted.. in the to met I got at least. Go to traffic school and poof. Its gone.

Notice that it's LA City that's dropping enforcement. LA County, and LA Superior Court, however, are not dropping red light tickets.

Failure to appears for traffic infractions won't generally get arrest warrants. However they definitely will get a hold placed on your license and rather extensive fines.

In other words, if a light flashes in LA City, don't worry about it. Long Beach? Break out the check book.

Ignore that article as you are confusing your self. It got nothing to do with LAPD and have everything to do with LA County court. LA County court will not take action on a ticket that lacks signature of the accused. Being red light ticket lacks signature nothing will happen to the person if they ignore it. As such again there will not be hold on DL. You are welcome to pay if you like. I and many of my friends have ignore this ticket in Culver City, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and and also metro and nothing happened to us. Yes we get notice from collection one time, we send debt verification and they just shut up. Nothing have ever shown up on my credit report and have recently renewed my DL.

Let us assume he did stop at the red light, let us further assume he did not cross any barriers, there is a chance to fight this ticket.

In the future, camera looking thing on the pole. Dot your I's and cross your T's.

Assuming he stopped (probably stopped at all, regardless of the limit line), then there's a really good chance that he won't be issued a ticket at all. I got flashed a few months ago (long after the 14 day window they have to issue the ticket) on a right turn on red out in Colton and nothing happened.
