My situation:
I graduated medic school in 1980. Yes I am old.

Worked in two different states neither required NR so I never took it. Still certified in two states (FL and MT). I am not employed in EMS right now.

There is a possibility I may need it after the sunsetting of the practical. Info I do have is the training institution would certify practical skills but that would be for new grads I assume.

I can’t find any information that would apply to my situation. Anyone have any ideas how this would work for me?

From what I understand, you’ll have to have an accredited education institute verify your competency against appendix g, but since they haven’t started the process yet, nobody really has the “real” deal from the NREMT.

I can tell you that I’ve tried several times to assist an RN with NREMT certification following the professional license process and had no luck in getting an Ed institute to verify competency.

Your best bet will be to talk to an exam specialist at the NREMT or start the challenge process now and take the ridiculous psychomotor exam.

Good luck.

Oh an interesting side effect of this, I guess the rn to medic programs will have to start doing that..
