question about medical id bracelets?

Sometimes, I feel like there can be too much room in an International. Plus they're very rough. It doesn't make that much difference to me, but I know lots of people here don't like them.

I've heard that. I'd imagine the air brakes aren't pleasant either.

They've got air ride. Always funny when they show up at the ER then let out an obnoxious amount of air while the back sinks down a solid few inches.

I'm a cell phone snooper with AMS patients..

I could see this being beneficial but it isn't exactly mainstream. I don't think to look at a cell phone when it comes to AMS, just for a ID or Medical ID tags.

One time we traced a mystery patient (purse stolen and unconscious) by one out of state advertising pencil in her pocket.

I've never looked at a patients phone and don't plan to unless there is some sort of appropriateness in the situation.

That's one of the first two things we grab for when trying to identify someone and get information when they can't tell us. We look in their wallets, then look on their phone.

How else do you gather information about an AMS patient?

They do. You must have missed that day of class.

I'm kidding, but I'm not...

If I find an altered person, with no immediately reversible cause, like an opiate OD or hypoglycemia, they're going to the hospital as an "unknown AMD". I don't really care about playing "let's find the medic alert tag". And really, 99% of the time there is someone on scene who can tell me what's up (or at least point me in the right direction...)
