Part time EMT in Tucson, Arizona.

Is this feasible, or do I need to look for full time employment in the field?

Reason I'm asking is because I've wanted to do EMS since I volunteered for a first aid group similar to the British Red Cross in Scotland.

Thing is, I currently have a job that I like but doesn't pay well. So, my strategy is to combine my other full time job with a part time EMT job to pay off student loan debt. The certification would be paid for using GI Bill.

Don't waste the GI bill on EMT school. Go to college full time and reap the housing allowance

There are a good amount of EMS Jobs in Arizona and I did see a EMT Job Part Time as well

Looks like you are correct the bulk monopoly of private is AMR in Arizona, when I search AZ I get:

AMR mostly also Lifeline ambulance
Governmental Military Type Jobs (Mostly fire)
Flight Paramedics (Air Methods has a good amount of openings)
G4S (Security EMT work)
Decent amount of Fire Departments opened this month

Yeah, Life Line is part of AMR. Texas and New Mexico (from what I have heard) are the best spots for EMS. If you want to do 911 right of the bat here, then you need to get lucky and apply for fire (be a ff). It sucks here.

I use to work in Texas and trust me EMS gets decent pay there and tons of opportunities.
