Didn't we also have a major Opioid overdose epidemic in the 90s?

The other issue we have is all the talk about linking reimbursements to patient satisfaction numbers.... so if the patient wants narcotic pain meds, and gives you negative numbers when they don't get it (despite not being indicated in the providers opinion), you lose money, which could have systemic consequences....
