Companies that provide medical standby at events take entry-level EMTs. Other than that and ambulance-based work, most other positions (ie: ER Tech, hospital scribe) are usually competitive and seek more experienced EMTs... so unless you've got some connections, it'd be difficult getting hired for those spots.

As a brand new EMT you don't have very many options. Ambulance companies, fire departments (maybe), and event medical companies will normally hire new EMTs.
For other positions you will need experience and usually a foot in the door.
If you get your medic cert/license that opens up the doors to a lot more options.

Going to depend solely on the hospital and is not a general rule. ER/EMT techs in my area of SoCal do not draw bloods.
