In California, maintaining the NREMT cert is not mandatory to hold your license. Since I own my house I have no intentions on moving out of state. Well, I just got email from NREMT informing me that I am due for a re-cert. Is it worth the bother? I really don't see a benefit in doing so, just curious as to what you all might think.

Even if you change employers within California you may need it. It's not hard to maintain and costs next to nothing, why would you let it lapse is a better question.

I have owned houses in two states other than FL that I had no intention of ever leaving...life has a funny way of changing your plans.

I also found myself in need of a position ASAP due to situation beyond my control...the only thing which saved me and got me almost instantly employed was the fact I had my NR.
