Also..I thought Crab fisherman had one of the most dangerous jobs? lol..Also I didnt know when your a flight medic..you can drive like a bat out of hell and crash into stuff..Man I can't wait for that medic cert!!!

Discovery Health had a show called 'Paramedics'...it was a bit old, but was the best show I've seen about prehospital care. There's no way any TV Drama show - Third Watch included - can accurately capture what we do and educate the public as to our day to day actvities, although many will attest to the impact 'Emergency' had on early prehospital care and the people it brought in.
That being said, I hope the show cancels before it even airs. Looks like garbage to me.

I'm a little afraid that it is going to make our jobs harder. It is going to increase and change bystander and lay responder's expectations of what we will do on scene. For dad's MI in an urban area, we ARENT going to show up in a helicopter. We DONT bring back most codes (OPA still inserted).
Thoughts?

Look at it like this; we'll have an extra hour to study or sleep at least one night a week. I give it one season, and my vote is the same as el Murpharino's; "Paramedics" was the standard, right up there with "Trauma: Life in the ER".

Interestingly these kind of US-Show here in germany a very popular for the EMS personnel in contrast to the german EMS shows like "112 - Sie retten dein Leben" (112 - They save your life): http://rtl-now.rtl.de/112-sie-retten-dein-leben.php
German EMS professionals think about the german EMS shows like you do about this new show on NBC. I think this is related to the relative unknown EMS-System in other countries and - of course - the german admiration about the Paramedic-System in the US (in Germany we have Emergency Physicians on scene). We Germans see these US-Shows and being just fascinated on what we see. Because we know our german EMS-System, we see our shows and think "Oh my god...."
It's just a matter of the point of view
By the way: Third Watch seems to be the best EMS show in this time.

i prefer beach patrol san diego hahahha. same thing probably. i swear half the show was missing children who just wandered off and the show trying to build up drama like they were abducted or drowned

Well, considering most of those children are under 3', and the fact that only 1' of quick moving water is enough to carry away a full size vehicle...
This show is going to be so lame.
I stumbled onto these video clips and wish I hadn't. I felt my IQ drop significantly just watching this ____________.

Pay close attention to the bottom video. It is the one where the blonde keeps wiping her dirty gloves on her face or wiping her face with her gloves and then touching the IV. What was that thread about prehospital IV infections?
Anyway, it is hard to tell anything about the patient except he "got his pulse" at the end of the scene but that is "entertainment".

On the bright side, they are showing a realistic amount of helicopter crashes.

I just watched the trailer. WOW! woooo-wooooo
Yeah, I gotta laugh at that also. San Francisco General, the city's real trauma center, has been trying to get approval for a helipad for many years. At this time, no hospital in SF has one. I'm sure the citizens of SF who watch this show will feel justified in their stance against a helipad in their neighborhood after watching a few crashes.
Also, Paramedics are rarely used on medical helicopters in California due to their limited scope of practice. The teams are usually RN/RN. Occasionally REACH will use a Paramedic but often it will be RN/RN or RN/RRT. Whatever the crew makeup, there are two members and not just one lone cowboy...who uses a child's mother to cut open the kid's throat.
The acting doesn't even look good enough to be called entertainment.
But, with any luck this show will be filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia since there is a dispute between SF and NBC. So far I believe only the pilot espisode with the tanker scene was filmed near SF a couple of months ago.
