Found this short video on YouTube of the new LifePak 15. I know some ppl have been really interested in seeing this new monitor so thought I would post it. Doesnt give a lot of detail... but appears very rugged!

not bad.....im interested in the user-interface portion also...looks nice....i personally like the zoll E series/M series

hmmmm... interesting, I wonder how much that new toy is going to cost......

Personally, hate Zoll, but then I grew up on Lifepack 12

I like the look of the 15 though. I can tell you the 12 was tough. Once dropped it down a flight of stairs. Still worked and user tested!

i have it on good authority the lp12 would float.

Hmm. We need a pond. 2 LP12. LifePak race!

They are nice units. One of the ED's in FL got 2 of them about 8 months ago. They are about the same size as a LP12, but about 5-8 lbs lighter. The read out on them is so much clearer then the LP12. I never did find out the price on them though.

They look like a modified twelve to me. Not impressed, was hoping they would do better. I had heard they had it similar to the LP5 where one could separate the monitor and defib, but scrapped that idea.. too bad they (all of them) won't listen to medics.

so other than getting beat by a hammer and a little sprinkle...what makes this one 'better?'

From what I have seen with it, I think it is mainly the same as a LP12. The biggest difference is the updated software. It has better artifact filters, so you get clearer ECG readings. They say that the NIBP and SPO2 works better in the rougher environment.

I have only seen it in the hospital setting. So, until someone uses it in the back of a rig, We will not know how big the difference is!

hmm...

So far all the articles I have found on this machine have not impressed me :(

I guess I cannot really talk until I have had some experience with it tho, but yup... so far, not impressed.

Take Care,

The Lifepak 15 is not even FDA approved yet so you havent seen it in a hospital...You may have seen the Lifepak 20 which is not an EMS monitor.

No this was a LP15!

Said plain as day "Lifepak 15" right on the front of the monitor. Maybe that ED was doing a test on them, don't know only got a few minutes to play with it.
