Anyone know anything about this service? I was informed they are hiring for medics and it looks promising. Anyone know much about this service? Or the state of Deleware for that matter? :p

Just curious about stuff like morale with the dept, how things run, and any little bits of info that might come in handy :) I'm reading their EMS and TEMS protocols now. They look good so far.
Also see if I can find anyone experienced with that delivery model of EMS, as I've never even been near a system like that.

Protocols are statewide. I work for Sussex County. I won't comment on NCC's morale, but I can answer questions about the delivery model and such. Each county does it a little different. Also, Jon (the super mod) rode a shift here. Maybe he can weigh in.

Oh, we're also hiring. http://www.sussexcountyde.gov/dept/ems/

Sussex is another one I've looked at... :)

And I have to ask, does DE do their own cert? Cause both Sussex and NCC are hiring 'Nationally Registered Paramedics"

From my understanding and research as I've been looking into applying at Sussex you have to be affiliated before you can get a DE card.

Makes sense then... Damn Sussex wants a lot of stuff to apply though... IT'll take me a while to get all of it together :( I'll apply with NCC first I guess

That's the exact same thing I said! I'd love to work in a system like that but I'm having a tough time with the relocation aspect of it if I were to take a shot at it. That's a long, long way from Nevada haha.

Sussex wants much, much less than NCC. Wait til you see their background check package. ;)

I just don't want to lose a shot to apply because I can't get to santa Fe to get my background check done... And waiting for my school to send the letter that's required. Lol and getting NM and TX OEMS to get anything written about my standing in the state

That's it. The ONLY paramedics in DE are county employees. If you're hired and pass the out of state certification process, you'll be issued a state of DE paramedic cert. DE does not have its own test. It's NR as the entry point.

If you're serious, call Joe Hopple, the education coordinator. (302) 854-5050 He can help you through the application process. It's really painless.
