Montclair Ambulance Unit currently accepting applications for:

Per Diem EMT-Basic

The position requires an experienced, responsible person who is willing to work with both paid and volunteer staff.

Candidates must have a minimum 2 years of "in the field" EMS experience and be able to submit a minimum availability of six (6) shifts per month, of which, one (1) must be a weekend shift.

Required Certifications

Current NJ EMT-B, NJ MICP, NREMT-B, or other certifications accepted by NJDOHSS

Current AHA, NSC or ARC Professional Rescuer Level CPR

ICS-200, NIMS-700, IS-800, CEVO/EVOC (within six months of hire)

Qualifications

Must be 21 years of age or older

Minimum of two years active pre-hospital 9-1-1 EMS experience

Valid driver license

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently

Ability to lift and carry at least 200 pounds with assistance

Basic computer use with simple data entry (emsCharts)

Proficiency in operating emergency vehicles and related equipment

Thorough knowledge of the principles, techniques and protocols

contained in the NJ EMT-B curriculum.

Candidate Abilities

Remain calm in crisis situations

Work in harmony with other EMS and public safety providers

Establish rapport and trust with patients

Understand and carry out oral and written directions
