So I just got my official certification from the NREMT, and I was filling out the form for the MN EMSRB license, and there was a question about any misdemeanors. Five years ago I received marijuana possession ticket, but have been clean since. Marijuana is decriminalized here, is this considered a misdemeanor? Will this affect my ability to get my license? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It all depends upon whether you were convicted. Often paying a fine renders you as "convicted" for that offense. If the offense was a misdemeanor, you'll have been convicted of that offense. If the offense was an infraction, then it's not even serious enough to be a misdemeanor.

Please don't construe that as legal advice. It's more like a starting point for YOU to do some homework. You should contact a lawyer that is knowledgeable about this type of employment matter and find out what the deal is for your state. Then perhaps run things by the licensing bureau of your state and see what they say about the specific issue.

Sorry. We don't allow any legal advice. Consult an attorney if you have specific questions.
