Rescue helicopter severely vandalized with graffiti at Hesperia Airport

Investigators are looking for the person or people who scrawled graffiti on the side of a San Bernardino County rescue helicopter at the Hesperia Airport, causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.

The vandalism was first reported just after 5:20 a.m. Sunday at the airport in the 7000 block of Summit Valley Road, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department officials.

The Facebook comments about this are hilarious.

Aircraft was only down for 24 hours in which time a spare aircraft was moved to keep the base in service.

Unfortunate but for anyone who knows the area, it’s not really surprising. Last time I was up there the helipad had 2 different security systems so the RCA on how this was allowed to happen and what changes are going to be implemented will be interesting.

Better than the helicopter that was damaged by a moose: medical crew was at the hospital (5 minutes away), and pilot was in the restroom.
They landed on a moose path
