Are LMA's within the scope of practice for EMT-Bs? Does it vary by state? I got my EMT-B cert in IL and I am now working in CO. My paramedic partner said its a basic skill that I'm allowed to perform but I didn't learn that in school. I didn't even know what LMA's were until I started working with him LOL.

Read your protocols.
If you're not up to speed with LMAs and they ARE in fact a skill you can practice, get with your education coordinator and schedule some time for education.
