You need 51 posts to log into chat. Either that or I think there's a minimum time if you don't have 51 posts that you need to have been a member

Members automatically receive chat access after 50 posts. Members who don't have 50 posts but have demonstrated that they are valuable members of the community can request chat access. Usually those members have at least 20 good posts. Here is more information.
