When we lived in Montana, every town had their siren platform on the damn water tower. Why we all needed a water tower, with water systems, and storage tanks in the mountains, idk.. But anyway, they had five sirens up there. First one was a bank of horns, diaphone horns for floods. Second was a Fed Mod. 5 for fires, third was a Fed Mod. SD10B for civil defense (air raids). Fourth siren was a sentry alarm for the railroad (accidents, disasters, etc.) and finally this huge deal with horns all around it, four stacks of them, I only remember two Tornado coming close to us in South West Montana, and both times the power failed making the siren useless. The only siren with battery backup was the civil defense siren. Normally, you wouldn't think someone would attack the tiny town of Pinesdale, Mt. But we had a little thing that made us a prime target... MDSS. Missle Defense System Silos.
