has anybody found a great, simple, cost effective way to do IO ongoing education? The trainers can be so expensive - not to mention the needles. It just adds up really fast if you have a large fleet. Any thoughts are appreciated thanks!

In medic school we used chicken bones with the meat still on them (drumstick). We would reuse the EZ IO needles.

Would they ever get really dull? Thanks!
We very rarely buy new IO needles. Maybe over time they will but I haven’t seen it yet.

We also reuse needles for our practice IV starts and scenarios. We figured out a way to release they safety lock feature on the caths we use.

Maybe invite a vendor to do a brief presentation before hands-on training. They'd probably be happy to provide all the equipment.

There’s a guy on FB printing them for 85 bucks.

For 85 bucks, I’ll keep drilling eggs and chicken bones.
