I am guilty of responding to these requests and I do not know why....

A 1.8 second google search as opposed to logging in and posting a thread....

Does anyone do their own research anymore and why do I keep enabling them?

I also scratch my head when ppl come on here asking anonymous strangers about licensing and whatnot. Why not check the licensing agencies website or call them on the phone and know 100 % instead of taking the gamble the info provided here is right.

Posting in a forum is research.

Because this is a place to get information as well. Surprise, surprise, we show up in some Google results as well. Instead of being mean and throwing up the lmgtfy links, why not explain what to search for. Use specifics, suggest official sites, etc.

sorry should have made myself a bit more clear.....i had dropped my national registry and according to a helpful person who contacted me there are a few more steps you have to take . but thanks for your input anyway problem solved!

Sorry I disagree. It depends on subject matter being sought. Scenarios, how you do shifts in your department, what stethoscope is best....those are worthy of seeking input from various sources up to and including a forum.

When it comes down to licensing...go straight to the source. Why would you even think of going elsewhere? It is your license being discussed.

I agree what was i thinking????? had been a bit aggravated by the websites and phone call after phone call..Thought just maybe some one had input that could cut the bull short. needless to say i worked it out..

I'm glad we show up in google but anyone who uses a forum for answers on licensing no matter how they got there is doing themselves a serious disservice by not just contacting those that issue the licenses.

There is no guarantee of accuracy on this site and I've seen many things posted here about the registry that were sims untrue.

I agree with the premise, but I think you missed my point so let me repeat it.

Instead of throwing up a LMGTFY link, which to me is not very welcoming of a new member, teach/mentor/show someone the proper method of how to search that information.

Now here's an idea if someone wants to run with it: Can someone commit some time and look up the reciprocity for each state, copy the links, and create a thread with the information, and I'll sticky it in this forum section? What do you think? Thoughts? Suggestions?
