I am applying for a job and one of the requirements is "ILTS provider traning" within 90 days of hire. Google doesn't seem to know what this is... Any ideas?

Could it be a typo and they mean Internation Trauma Life Support (ITLS) training?

That is what I was thinking too....Maybe call them and ask what they mean?

ITLS or International Trauma Life support is exactly the same as BTLS (Basic Trauma Life Support), and similar to PHTLS (Pre hospital Trauma Life Support)

From what I heard, it was renamed ITLS as the doctors taking it didn't want to be associated with a course with "Basic" in the title!!

True? Not sure: Suprising if true? No!

Why would physicians be taking BTLS when they have ATLS?

Not exactly true.

I think it is a great idea To finally look at trauma from a medical view by combining "Basic" and "Advanced" rather than having the divisions EMS seems to have made for itself beyond just their patch level.

I have PHTLS, BTLS, and ITLS. BTLS is Basic, just as it says. I do not recall getting any advanced treatment in this class. PHTLS, uuuuuhhhhhhhhhh..... Honestly, the people who put it on did nothing but run through power point and yap about their one gory call from over five years ago. I pretty much slept. ITLS is definately advanced treatment, with the emphasis of treatment and initiating transport all within a 7 minute time frame from scene arrival. This is the one I retained the most cause we were required to take it during our medic class, and the instructors werent boring as hell like the other two. But I guess different folks, differents strokes type of deal right?
