How long did it take?

Hello everyone,

I am a recent medic graduate having no luck in the EMS jobs department. I currently live in WA state but am willing to move asap. I was just wondering how long it generally takes or took for you personally from graduation to working the streets be it 911 or IFT.

I went straight from my internship into my FTO time for a 911 agency but then again I was already employed as an EMT-I.

Apply everywhere and follow up, don't just submit an app then let it sit. Gotta be proactive. Good luck!

I heard Ada County in Idaho is testing soon, kinda up in your neck of the woods and from what I've heard and seen seems like a cool place to work. Generally better to decide where you want to live then work on a job there rather than moving for a job but that's just my opinion.

Where in Washington? I was hired for two full time jobs and a per diem job right out of school.

Of course, TCC medics are very employable.

There's not a lot of jobs for medics on the west side of the state, unless you are lucky enough to land a fire job. And any ALS job will most likely be a lot of IFT.
