Houston Area EMT Jobs

Interesting.. Thank you for the info. Even though alot of EMS companies have all there own problems, Creek seems like its got a major problem.. LOL

I'm moving more towards the Gulf, so Galveston could be a good bet. Im just hoping to stick with 911 if all possible, as an EMT. I know alot of FD do all there own transports though so that could be a challenge to stick with 911 based companies.

Anyone have any info on other 911 companies surrounding the Brazoria County? Sugar land area to League city?
So I can answer a lot of questions about Galveston, as I work for Galveston County EMS. A decent amount of our new EMTs hire on in the transfer side, but transfer to 911 as they patch up or we hire new EMTs to backfill the transfer spot they are working, but they can pick up OT on 911 and there are usually plenty of OT available.. We have 2x 24/7 transfer trucks (1 MICU and 1 ILS/BLS) and 1 4x12 (BLS/ILS) transfer truck. We also currently have 6 24x7 911 trucks (4 on island and 2 in the county) with hopes to have 2 more 911 trucks (1 county, 1 island) up and running by years end. I know we just hired 8 new people that started today. We cover the city of Galveston/Village of Jamaica Beach (the entire island) as well as the Hitchcock and Baclif/San Leon areas and the unincorporated areas of the county near there. We just got a pay raise across the board and our benefits aren't bad. Good retirement.
League City EMS is a city run EMS agency that may or may not be part of the VFD there (for city flow chart usage only, they're independent for all intents and purposes). They run all 911.
Alvin EMS (not Galveston County, but closeish) is a city 911 agency that runs 2 or 3 trucks. All 911. Protocols and pay are some the of most restrictive and least paying for the area.
Penninsula EMS runs 911 on the bolivar peninsula. All 911 and I believe 3 trucks up at all times. Rural EMS with no hospital nearby.
Santa Fe EMS is an ESD run concurrently with SFVFD. EMS is paid, Fire is Volly. Pay is ok, low turnover, crappy benefits.
La Marque and Texas City are career Fire based transport departments.
Friendswood is a weird non-billing volunteer EMS with some paid staff that needs to start billing or they're going to go under. I do no recommend them.

All that said Galveston county health district (Galveston EMS) isn't a bad place. Check us out. This kinda view is nice to have in our backyard too

For Brazoria County as an EMT, you've got Lake Jackson (a solid 80%, boss has Captain Ahab Syndrome, but decent place) and the pits of Clute and maybe Sweeny
