Just got hired for AMR Hemet/Pass division:). start orientation next Monday on the 15 in Rancho. I got hired for part time which i know everyone does, just wanted to know what part time is like far as picking up shift and how many shifts you can work a week? Thanks in advanced.

Congrats. I'm not too sure how Hemet operates now. It used to be you could pick up as many shifts as you want. And I think I know you from somewhere... That is if your first name is Gary...

thanks firefite for all your help.

disregard

Riverside division > Hemet division. Just saying.... lol

I have 2 friends that work at riverside. Lets just say they hate it badly

see that pisses me off. I and many others have noticed the biggest people to complain here at AMR Riverside (I can't speak for other divisions, although it might be the same) are employees that have never worked somewhere else.

I tell people, this is a for-profit private company. Not a third-service. Its literally a money making business with the intent to maximize profits with the least amount of units.

Think about it this way, if you owned a restaurant, would you work 10 chefs at a time to keep customers happy or just 2 that you actually need to get things done 90% of the time.

AMR here is one of the highest paying EMT 911 SOCAL jobs you can literally get ( non er-tech). We start at 12.50! These people can go work anywhere else in LA or OC and tell me how it goes. You will run IFT dialysis and DR appts non stop for 8-10/HR.

We get comfort stations for BLS(never post on street in BLS), 12.50, good equipment I.e. power gurneys, tough books, cases of water at start of shift, uniform allowance every check, unlimited OT, we get about 1 or 2 BLS calls a day. All in all people need to really not take for granted what we get here.

All those things and more not listed you will never get at a company in LA, either the unlimited OT, starting pay, or even the cases of water.

People were complaining and even threatening of calling OSHA because we were only giving them 5-6 waters a shift per person. Like really? Buy your own water like everybody else does, you getting a whole case every shift is just straight being a leech.

Sorry for the rant but just a little reminder to your friends and anyone if you hear them complaining.

****1 or 2 ER BLS calls a day with a avg of 3-5 on a 12/HR shift.

I have to agree with you . Working for one of the better IFT companies in riverside county AMR is a dream job compared. People I due hear complain are the ones that got hired right away didn't due there time. I look at them like you have it made here stop cryin.

Ya man people complain soo much and take everything for granted here. Just go to work and enjoy the job. I do everyday. Even after 3 yrs lol. You will have your bad days but if anything remember how it was before.

I here you and I will I thought it was good where I was compaired to other companies. AMR takes better care then most companies do. I won't forget where I came from ill enjoy the little things smile move on gotta job to do.

Not even close....just saying.

That being said, AMR anywhere in the IE is better than any of the BLS companies in the area.

Yeah, you can pick up as much as you want, although there are a few people that swoop on every available shift.

The big difference, IMO, is that Jack makes the place.

It's changed a bit since I started, and may be different for EMT's, usually 10-12 shifts I think but can go longer dependent on how you're doing.

Thanks. I work ALS 911 for MBA part time so I hope I'm able to adapt quickley.
