Hello I am looking into becoming an EMT. I was wondering if anybody out there could please list some of locations in which EMTs/Paramedics are employed by the local government? I am aware of Boston & NYC so far. Thank you for your help.

I'd imagine anywhere with a fire or police department based EMS service.

Many cities run their respective police & fire depts however the EMS services are through private companies.

Hence why I stated you need to find an EMS service run through fire or police departments.

Do you know any cities, towns, or counties? Save Boston & NYC

Are you looking in the Boston/NYC area, Northeast, or just anywhere in general???
I know down here in SC it is pretty much all municipal service, mainly working for the Counties with a few city services thrown in.

There are really too many to list in that whole region. Look at each service you're interested in individually.

Side note,

If you intend to work for such an agency be prepared to travel back and fourth for each phase of the hiring process if you don't live in the area.

lets see..... Nassau County PD has an EMS Division. Elizabeth NJ has a FD based EMS division. Much of North Jersey is municipal based. Many FD's in Maryland run EMS. There are a ton more, all you need to do is look around and do some research.
