Goodbye Gerber

I worked there last year and this news doesn't surprise me at all. Gerber was already headed downhill when I was there. Wonder if this has anything to do with the purchase by Falck (with supposed folding into Care) that fell through. Hope the EMTs there can get picked up by McCormick or Care or whoever.

I thought Falck bought them out? Did that never go through?

From what I heard LA County would not allow it. They don't want another amr incident in which I mean when they bought out Goodhew, Krypton and a bunch of others that were sprawled out all over (most of them running out of funeral homes!) Schaefer, Bowers, McCormick all refused to be bought out when it happened. Faulk is the new threat in town if somebody is seeking 911. The last OC meeting McCormick was the only one to protest Care. Everyone else that was there Doctors/AMR, Pacific/RM, Lynch, Emergency did not protest to Care gaining and renewing.

The loss of Gerber is a loss to our EMS community.
