I was perusing a protocol and noticed glucagon was recommended for bradycardia. I tried to research how this works. Can someone explain that to me. Is it just for beta blocker overdose? It is far from being in my scope but it piqued my curiosity.

Glucagon uses a non beta adrenergic receptor site and pathway to increase cAMP. Similar to how Primacor works.

The problem with an EMS protocol is actually carrying enough to bolus and make a drip. We had a difficult time getting enough from the hospital pharmacy. You my carry enough for a few boluses but it's effects are short lived. Usually it's like 5mg q5mins until stable then a drip at 5mg/hr

At 280 bucks a milligram, I do not see this being likely haha.
