Hi all, had a question that i could use some help on. I am in charge of maintenance on our trucks, and was wondering, where does everybody keep their fire extinguishers on their trucks? We have one in our front cab, and in the compartment that can be accessed from both inside and outside of the box. It is not mounted in a specific spot, it is laying on its side, but wont go anywhere, so i guess you could say its partially secured. But I was wanting to mount it inside the box somewhere. So i was curious, where does your ambulance have their extinguishers mounted? Im just looking for ideas. What kind of brackets do you have? Oh and thats the other thing. We have a bunch of fire extinguishers, but only one frikin bracket. lol

Thanks Much,
Ryan S.

Front cab, inside side door of box and one in exterior compartment with o2 bottles. I assume they spread them out as far as possible so you can get to one of them if there's fire or smoke blocking another.

Behind the driver's seat.. in the well of the side door, and back in a little space between the stairchair and back door.

Behind the passenger seat it the cab, either mounted on the wall or on the floor. And that's it.

If there is anything to do with fire then fire department will respond.

In the well by the squad door, so i trip on it everytime I try to get in/out.

Like many others, we have one extinguisher, accessible only from the outside, in a compartment on the driver's side. Basically for use if the ambo is on fire or something. Anything else is handled by the boys on the BRT.

In the outside cabinet. Passenger side all the way at the back of the mod .

One mounted to the floor behind the passenger seat and one in the back between the rear door and stair chair storage (type II rig). Both are 10 pound extinguishers with rubber strap mounts that actually do a good job keeping them in place and rattle free.

One mounted on Airway chair mounts (our airway chairs don't move) some trucks have one outside with spare tire.
