FF Dies in NZ Blaze

A fireman has died and two others are fighting for their lives following a string of massive explosions ripped through an industrial warehouse near Hamilton yesterday afternoon.

The inferno obliterated three buildings in Tamahere on the city's southern outskirts and was believed to have been sparked by leaking gas from the coolstore.

Yes, it was breaking news when we were all talking on the chat last night.
At that stage they said one was dead, but had not said that it was a FF.
Thought I'd share the article with you all, after reading it this morning.
My heart goes out to all those involved and their families!

Update

One fire frighter is still in a serious condition in the burns unit with 71% burns to his body.
There are still 30 FF trying to put the fire out. Diggers have been brought in to pull back some of the debris to get to the hot spots.
Dairy products (cheese and butter) and meat were stored there and have not helped with the effort to put it out. They say that the fire was burning at 1000 degrees oC.
The funeral for the FD's lost brother will be held on Friday (Thursday US).

My thoughts are with the family of the lost fire fighter. Thoughts are also with the families of the fire fighters hanging on for their life. Praying that they make it through this tragedy.
