Hey everyone! I've been helping a friend of mine go through the EMT process which is very overwhelming and the resources online are pretty scattered. I've been working on a side project in my spare time to develop a central source to help walk people through the process of becoming an EMT, getting certified in the state you live in and finding a job. If you're interested you can click here and let me know what you think. I'm currently working on adding EMT training requirements for each state. I hope you find this useful. If you're interested in writing something please feel free to PM or contact me through the site.

If you just started this, you're already posting incorrect, dated information. There are no longer "4 EMT levels". It's now:
Emergency Medical Technician
Advanced Emergency Medical Technician
Paramedic

Most of the info you need can be found here: https://www.nremt.org

"EMTs are not trained to provide medical care"? Care to elaborate a little?

And traction splints and backboards are well within the EMT-B scope of practice, the way it's written makes it sound like those are a Paramedic level advanced life support skill
