I have finished the NR and submitted for my liscense in the state of TX. I was charged with a misdemeanor for less than 2oz of marijuana back in 2003. 13 years ago! Will this affect me in any way getting my liscense or a job?

Call austin and ask. In many cases, it's a case by case basis

You'll probably have to jump through some hoops but ultimately no it probably won't.

It probably won't effect you getting a job as long as you're honest about it. As long as you haven't been in trouble since usually most employers are understanding that we all did dumb **** when we were younger. They're looking to weed out those that didn't grow up and stop doing dumb stuff.

I think you will be fine with TDSH if you are good with NREMT. NREMT has an extensive section on criminal Hx. "Moral turpitude" is what the powers that be look for.

Yes. Your background will come up with employers. The best way to combat this, i feel, is to develop good references. That way, when the "big interview" come up, you have previous employers that have good stuff to say about you.

Most private EMS, only care if you have your EMT cert.
ATCEMS looks back only 10 years.
