EMT-B Merit Training

Hi everyone.

I have a couple of questions and was hoping you guys can give me some pointers / answers.

I will be starting my EMT-B course with Merit Training it will be 1-2 months of online training and 1 day practical skills assessment & final test. I need to get a solid foundation of 40 - 80 hours of studying done before hand.

I have completed my AHA BLS course and passed with 92% for the theory & 100% for the practical scenarios.

Now the questions are:

1. Should I try to arrange for a shadow ride along with my local Ambulance unit ER24?
2. What should I start learning first in the Emergency Care And Transportation Of The Sick And Injured 10th Ed book?
3. Will 4 hrs a night be enough to learn from 1 Jan 2016 if the final is on 18 Apr 2016?
4. What YouTube videos or channels should I watch and subscribe to?
5. Has anyone here studied with Merit Training?
