EMS In Colorado?

Hey guys. Newbie here looking for some info on EMS in Colorado. I will be moving out there from Illinois in April and was wondering what I should know beforehand about their EMS program. I never finished my EMT-B program here in Illinois so I will have to start over when I get there. I will be moving to Thornton/Federal Heights area. Any advice on starting out and Health One's program they offer, or Colorado EMS as a whole? I'm very excited about my move and getting a chance to do what I've always wanted to do but I don't want to miss anything along the way. Any help you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated.
 
I don't know anything about schooling. I'm originally from out of state. All I can tell you is about some of the operations in the area if your interested.

HealthONE, Denver Health, and Red Rocks all have good EMT-B programs. No matter where you go, you'll need your IV cert to work as an EMT. Once you've finished EMT-B you can do the IV class with pretty much any place that has an EMT class.
 
I did paramedic school through HealthONE in Englewood. I don't have much experience with their EMT program. I do know that their EMT students do their ED clinicals at Swedish Medical Center which is a large and busy level I trauma center. They also have a lot of high fidelity simulation equipment and work several excellent days of simulations complete with mock patients, real ambulances, real transports, and real hospital EDs with paramedic students who are nearly done with their program as a combined crew. Ensihoitaja is 100% correct about the IV cert, but I'd just worry about the EMT course at first. Have fun and good luck!
 
HealthOne seems to have their act together. I'd like to do their medic program but considering how far my work is from Denver it's just not going to happen. :(
