I'm curious how a faster car will drop response times in half, but what do I know...

"According to the UAE’s The National, Dubai paramedics are now receiving a Lotus Evora and a duo of Ford Mustangs for use as rapid-response emergency vehicles, intended to drop the unit’s response times from around eight minutes in a normal ambulance to just under four. Ambitious but nonetheless fitting for Dubai."

Probably expect to cut their response time in half because they know they'll already be whipping about the city at 80+mph even before they get the call

The state of Virginia says as long as you're operating as an emergency vehicle (lights and sirens) and exercise "due regard" you have no speed limit. But then the county I run 911 in has to go and put a limit on it to 10 miles over the speed limit! Honestly, talk about cramping my style. Sometimes when I'm running hot I get passed!

You give me a Bugatti Veyron and I promise you one thing - no one will EVER pass me when I'm on my way to a call l&s ever again. FRV? F that. Light-speed response is more like it. You know how they teach you that the faster you're going, the shorter distance your siren travels? Be prepared to hear my siren after I've crossed over the horizon and am but a distant memory to you.

Cutting response time in half isn't accomplished just by changing vehicles. Even if they truly will go 80 with these things instead of 60 in a truck, that won't save 50% of the response time. If anything things are just getting more dangerous. Going faster in a smaller vehicle.

If they actually want to cut down urban response times, motorcycles are the way to go. A sports car won't get there much faster than an ambulance, unless it's a question of doing 150 mph on the highway (hopefully not).

Ahh, but it still looks better than those weird orange and blue ambulances I keep seeing on my way down the 14...

This is fantastic!
