DO you have to be an emt1 for a year b4 you can go to paramedic school?

Yes, you have to be an EMT1 (aka, an EMTB) Most of the schools even want you to have street time before they'll consider an application from you. This is something easily found by researching California Paramedic programs.
 
No you do not.

You can go straight to a school. Trust me, I know a guy whose sister's best friend did it.









:) sorry wanted to give a differing opinion...might motivate one to do some research...very EASY research in this case.

What he is asking is this: "I am going through EMT school and will be NREMT-B soon. Do I have to be NREMT B for at least a year before I can go to Paramedic School."

Again, it depends on the school. Research!
 
But research, critical thinking, and independent thought aren't traits taught in EMT-B school, therefore they must not be important. :-/

Well, I got a PM saying that what I posted in this thread was something I wouldn't say to him face to face. I shot back a PM explaining that it wasn't directed to him, but a general observation of EMS culture. In the mean time I got a profile post joking about my picture and this lovely gem.

Sasha, I leave tomorrow. With all the holidays and family in town, time just flew by. Since it was my new years resolution, all I can say is see you in a few months? :)
