I realize I may sound insane, I just passed all my EMT-B tests and Im going to take my NREMT in a week. I am thinking of applying to DFD EMS. Does anyone know any details about the training academy they put you through once hired? I searched everywhere cant find much. Looking for solid details.

I have no idea, but am I wrong to assume they would be hiring medics not EMTS?

they hire both. Its my understanding that even if you are licensed at Medic you start out at EMT in the company and then get a raise to medic over time. But yea it stated minimum quals are EMT-B.

Why would you be insane?
I think you have to go apply in person.
But they may have filled up already or they may have gone with people they laid off.

You may not get a paycheck all the time, and if you want to work for a city that its filing bankruptcy, then go for it.

All I know is that it's a full time academy, and like you said medics start as basics and get promoted up. Last I heard it could be years before you get promoted.
