Denis Leary bringing "Sirens" to the States (EMS on TV)

Crazy/whiney/clingy/needy cancels out the hotness.

Sounds like my current girlfriend and the two before her... you'd figure I'd learn eventually...

Hey, the crazy is situationally dependent. It could be a good thing.

fail show wont last

Why is that? Just curious what your basis for that assessment is

First off i would love to see an Emt show out there , comedy based or real kinda like cops but for ems.

Just by watching the one minute preview I shouldn't of jumped the gun would like to watch few episodes BUT just by what I saw seems kinda no where close to how we are in the field

Scene where he's like I'm gay and there a pt backboard in the ambo to me screams fail that would never happen in that situation I hope ... And was not funny imo

Similar to many situations in scrubs lol. I hope it lasts and it's an ems version of scrubs. The uk version wasn't half bad from whT I remember

There was a show like COPS but with EMTs before. I don't know what it was called, but my Paramedic instructor showed several of the episodes in class. It was a :censored::censored::censored::censored:show - horrible habits, missing big things (a patient gurgling on blood while the medics focus on the angulated fx of his leg). It absolutely did not instill confidence in the system or make someone want to be an EMT.

Incidentally, there is a new "reality" based EMS show this fall called Stretcher Fetchers.

Don't mind the paragod he knows all and is wise, bow to his knowledge of everything In this world

I appreciate the ringing endorsement. It's good to know others acknowledge my infallibility :)

Was it "Paramedics"? on TLC?

I remember that show. and truth be told most people who watched it probably weren't paramedics.. so they had no idea what was going on.

Another one I remember when I was younger was Rescue 911.

Clip of "Paramedics" here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rv-uWXo4xzU

That looks like it, although that call was better than the ones shown in class. Still, those compressions...

I have started watching "rescue me" and quickly got tired of it. Is this gonna be the same thing?

You don't work in a busy system do you? Personal conversation over an unconscious patient is pretty common in my system

I watched the sample show USA has on their website. It was okay. Seemed like they were trying too hard to be funny though. It wasn't bad just seemed like the humor was cliche and forced.

I watched the first episode of the British version and liked it a LOT better. The characters seemed "deeper" and much more real and relatable.
