As one who receives unsolicited CVs/resumes nearly non stop....cover letters really are not impressive nor do we actively search for one or read one with that much interest. Cover letters actually are redundant and a waste of my time typically. For management roles or specialty positions, I do request one and it is so I can see a bit more of their intelligence level by their writing style, their ability to communicate effectively and to analyze what they think is important tot he position which they are applying.

For most generic positions such as EMT or Medic...all I want to see is if you meet the requirements by having everything I have listed, how much experience you have, when can you start and then a background check including talking to former employers.

No need to overthink this too much...
