I'd be more worried with are you basing whether you want to work for an agency based on allowing facial hair or not. Chances are TransportJockey just put up a sarcastic comment and then removed it since he decided to be polite.

It doesn't but I'm just bringing up the point that it shouldn't be the big concern.

Well that all depends. It could be the perceived effort of the poster, it could be simple ignorance of the most correct answer...could be a lot of things.

However, I thought the link would help you and offer a lot of relevant discussion which took place surrounding it.

That thread is 5 years old. I like to have a well kept beard with a shaved head and feel the beard contrasts better with a scar i have on my face.

All i wanted was an answer from a FDNY EMS member straight from the horses mouth cause im interested in the NY job.
