The title pretty much explains it all. I'm 17 and certified as an EMT-B in my state but I want to become certified with the NREMT before I forget everything from the class I took a few months ago. Am I able to take the NREMT exam, even if that just means I'll become a provisional member? Or will I have to wait until my 18th birthday to take the exam? Please let me know if there is anything I can do. Thanks.

All the requirements are here: https://www.nremt.org/nremt/about/reg_basic_history.asp

Of particular interest to the OP:

Individuals applying for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification must meet the following requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older.

That's the first requirement listed. I'd suggest any other questions be addressed directly to the NREMT. They're very nice and will answer questions if you call them at 1-614-888-4484

I got my certification when I was 17, and wasn't allowed to take my NREMT until I was 18, so I just opted not to do it. You'll just have to retest once you turn 18 to get your NREMT if you want it.
