The gender balance has swung here so the majority of graduates from Paramedic degrees are female.

Could be an artifact of the requirement for higher education in EMS in Australia -- US higher education enrollment is female-heavy, I would think that'd be similar in Australia.

PS: Our fire chief is female. City of over 150,000 plus contract work with a neighboring town and some unincorporated areas.

One of the BCs here is female and we've got a handful of female captains as well.
