I would like to use an avatar but the system will not allow it? Am I doing something wrong.

This is what I see below:


Your Current AvatarNo Avatar Specified Avatars are small graphics that are displayed under your username whenever you post.

Do not use an avatar <--this has a big dot next to it that I can't change?

Note: if you have a custom avatar selecting this option will delete it.
 
Thx for the fast reply, but no it does not work. there is no option to upload or link an AVATAR.

How ever I was able to put a personal picture in my profile area without any issue.

To me it looks like the AVATAR option is locked from an admin point of view.
 
Okay, I loaded your profile pic as your avatar. Can you now change your avatar to what ever you want?

Do me a favor and try loading a different avatar to see if it works. I think I found the problem with the forum permissions, but want to make sure.
 
Ok, I did that earlier and some worked and some did not. They all showed but several did not "work" so maybe it is hit and miss? :wacko:

There's a limit on the size of the avatars, and the image type. It's possible you exceeded the allowable size limit.

Hey Boss 8978! I tried to upload my profile pic as an avatar also, but have been unsuccessful. Can you help me as well? 376 says I can't do it because I'm still a probie here in the chat room. If that is so, I'll keep posting until I am worthy.

It was something the Admin had to fix for me, but now all is good. Did you try to PM him??:ph34r:
 
No, not yet. I'm in no real hurry and he'll get to it, I'm sure.
 
I guess when he fixed you he fixed me. My pic should be attached.
 
I dont even see anybodys avatars.
I dont like this new place.
Everything is way too complicated.

You don't see my avatar?

Try going to your UserCP and making sure Show Avatars is checked.

Change is hard, I know! I miss the old forum too in some respects. The new forum is the web standard though, and a lot of people like all of the new features. We've also had lots of new signups recently because of the new forum, so I can't complain about that.

Are you using an updated version of windowsXP?
 
Whatever he did for you worked for me as well. My chosen pic is up!
 
I've got a new profile pic, as well as an avatar.... The avatar is me, working hard.
