I am a newly certified EMT-B in Michigan. I live in Ann Arbor seasonally as a student, and out of state during the summer. I was looking for advice for where to apply to for jobs as a part time EMT. It needs to be within reasonable driving distance of A2. I'd prefer if there was some sort of 911 contract, but I think I'd be happy with IFT too.

So far I've applied to HVA and St. Joes as tech. Is community another good option? I don't really know much about them.

Ever been to Blimpy burger?

Health link,
I beleive Concorde is owned by community.
If you have your fire 1 &2, try and get a job with Ann Arbor.
Infact, A2 is hiring.

Haha yeah, I love blimpy, my favorite burgers in Ann Arbor by far.

I've never heard of Health Link or Concorde. It looks like they're both owned by community. Are they IFT only? And does community use EMT's for 911? I don't have my fire 1/2 and to be honest, I'm not all that interested in fire. So would my best bet to be to apply to community, Health Link and Concorde?

As a brand new EMT you will not get on a 911 truck with HVA.

Most...most not alll....require two years experiance as a basic. If you stay out of Oakland county you can be on a medic/basic truck. You would be the driver. But still see stuff. But again you need experiance.

Star EMS in pontiac. They run medic/medic and basic/basic. However every 911 call a ALS and BLS truck get sent. So you see lots of 911s. No experiance needed. And about an hour from A2.

If it's up your alley and you have your firefighter 1 and 2 certificates, their fire department is hiring FF/EMTs.
