Did you work Vista?
Weve been averaging about 4 calls a day, but thats because theyve been calls that take 2 hours or so, due to the nature of the medical emergency.
Last week we had a code 3 subarachnoid hemorrhage we took to Green ICU and watched an immediate ventriculostomy take place right...
I dont mind having CCT calls except that some nurses are biatches. Honestly, I wanna do a little of everything, though it doesnt take too long to get over BLS. CCT has its moments of awesomeness but eventually, I wanna do ALS, specifically to get trauma experience. I dont know how much Ill get...
Thank you so much for the info. I got hired on at Pacific before I even put in an app at SDEMS but after running CCT, BLS is boring as hell. Besides, I wanted both aspects of emergency care. Ive seen things on CCT that Ill never see on ALS, such as a ventriculostomy done right in front of me in...
Ive got a small bag with some gloves, 4x4's, bandaids, neosporin, gauze rolls, butterflies, and alcohol swabs, even a small bottle of iodine. Only thing is, Ive used it more at home than stopping at an accident scene. I never imagined myself stopped on the side of the road just to put a bandaid...

Had the interview today. Randy said he would let me know by email within two weeks if I got the position or not. An hour later, he called me an offered a position. Guess I must have rocked that interview. Super excited that all the hard work I went through is actually going to pay off. YAY!!!!
A nursing home calls 911 for Pt having SOB. We respond:
(Pt is found in Fowlers with head tilted forward, obstructing airway)
EMT: How long has she been like this?
CNA: I don't know but she sounds like she can't breathe
EMT: (Checks the O2) She's on 5 lpm (Turns up to 20 lpm)
CNA: Oh I...
FYI new emt, don't get so offended. You might just get on a rig with an FTO that pushes you and you can't cry and you can't complain. This isn't the playground after school.
Also, getting your state license varies by county. For example, in Riverside County, it takes a few days to get it...
HA! new emt even.....too funny. im surprised theres no picture of him with his blackberry taking a picture in the mirror with his shirt up to show how awesome the abs look.
Thats weird. I see them around all the time. For the most part, I figure the main BLS rigs around here are Pacific and Balboa. I see them more in the central San Diego area but more of AMR and ER in La Mesa and El Cajon.
Also this is part of the email:
"We will be reserving time slots...
Well, yea, in some areas. San Diego is weird, in that you can live in a good neighborhood but two streets down is like ghetto. I live in Golden Hill, a district near downtown, and the cheapest apt we found is $995 for 1 bed 1 bath. We took it, its a good price. But you can move to surrounding...
my friend just interviewed at riverside amr and was hired. i asked her to write a list of things they asked her. btw...are you moving to san diego? ....just asking cause it says youre from burlingame, which is pretty far from here. but im sure you already knew that :) was just curious....
