Hey all,
anyone have advice for these terrible FISDAP exams? The study tools only provide one test and its the same order for each subject. Not very helpful.
Very lean questions.
It's best to call and ask. I'm in a completely different world as I am based out of a station far away from Metro. Kind of like ventmonkey. I only see the monkey when we need a paramedic with wings. Don't be afraid to call. They are incredibly nice and go out of their way. If your also looking...
Hemets only looking for medics right now. Hemet use to be hemet ambulance and most the employees are still there. So it's still an old school division separated from all the drama.
Hall also still gives out a moving bonus I beleive. Their are rooms for rent as alot of nurses rent out etc. Theirs also air bnb which is a cheap option if you just wanna come for work. All shifts are pretty much 12s, 4 days on 3 off, 3 on 4 off.
I rented a 2 bedroom 900 sqft apartment with 2 bathrooms and a balcony for $800 a month 3 years ago when I started out. I only had to pay for the electric bill.
Does it have to be AMR? Have you looked into Hall? They will put you through their medic program for free and pay you while attending. Grass is greener than AMR.
Thanks to both you for the sound advice so far. I'll try and start from the top.

Hey all, haven't been on here in a while. First off Happy New Year! The wife and I are expecting our first child in 4 months. Just wondering how you all manage with the wacky schedules of say 2 parents working in the medical field and just how hard is it? Any pointers or advice? Thanks in advance.
If you need a place to stay during your shifts so you don't have to commute, there are places where the out of towners stay. So if you do 3 days on 4 days off than 4 days on 3 days off you can rent some space for like $50 to $100 a month utilities included or do the air bnb thing. It's not too...
It's not that competitive they hire alot but few know about it. Stay away from the rest. If I may suggest if your looking for a career and advancing to Paramedic and want some great 911 experience with even greater protocols for EMTs may I suggest leaving LAco completely and trying Hall...
It is IFT but comes with great county benefits and the pays not bad. You would do transfers all day mostly psych patients from say USC to Olive View etc.
