HI!
My name is Zak. I'm 18 years old and I'm a resident firefighter.
I used to ride with a private ambulance company at the age of 16 before moving to the fire station. So although I've had some previous experience, I still have to take the class... LOL
I wish I could challenge it...
I have heard "be a kid" alot.
Just because I started training early & know what I want my future to hold doesn't mean I was never a kid.
I have had plenty of fun with my friends and family outside of EMS.
I will not "deeply regret it." Believe me.
This is what I have wanted to do my entire...
I know that we've already had quite a few people put their stories in, but while reading everybody's responses I thought I would throw mine in too.

Didn't get paid alot, but it was ok................
Dispatch was in the same building as crew, so if there were questions or...

i was a little leary of it at first, but i love it!
not much of a story about why or how i got into it, just looked interesting since i was little! :P
true. the perfume can just make matters worse if you have issues with the smells. but smokers don't really think about it, cuz they are probably used to the smell... but i think it would be polite to keep it in mind!!!
if you smoke...
you have to do it 20 ft from any building ... here in WA state
IT'S ILLEGAL
i personally don't like the smell of smoke, it's discusting...
but some people start coughing and sneezing if they are around smoke, so why do it when you are in EMS (on duty)???
unless you have...
it is a good idea to have steel toed boots.
i've also used them as brakes for the cot, i've had my toes run over by the wheels, pulling them down coming out of the ambulance, and kicked things that i know i would have been saying :censored::censored::censored::censored: if i didn't have steel...
