Ive got the word!.. for anyone else that might come into this problem.. As of Jan 1, 2009, the ET and IV will be taken out. So itll just be NREMT reciprocity then. Right now you have to take the ET and IV modules to gain reciprocity. Im waiting till 2009! haha

Well, that wouldn't be all that bad. Just a very good excuse to take a little trip to SC. B)

I live in FL and I just graduated EMT school. Im still in the process of getting my FL license, but Im also trying to get a SC license for college.. Thats where my problem is.. For the reciprocity guidelines it says this: So as an EMT-B do I need ET and IV maintenance? My course syllabus...

    Military PHTLS

Well, the next nearest one is about 2 hours away in Melbourne. Which would still mean a hotel room.. Id rather save that money and go here if its not much different. The program director told me its just PHTLS with "the encompassed tactical combat casualty care (2008) guidelines". I really...

    Military PHTLS

Theres a Military version of the PHTLS course being offered in my town at the end of the month. Does anyone know what the differences are between the military and regular? I'd have to travel 3-4 hours for any of the other ones being offered so I am very interested in taking the one here. The...

    Cardiac Quiz

Eh, its the same amount of hours put into a full time class.. Rather than going to class 2 nights a week while working full time and then studying when I could fit it in, I went to class for 8 hours a day and then studied for 2-3 hours every night. For me, I think it was a better learning...

    Cardiac Quiz

The SA node is where the electrical signal first starts. The signal travels from the SA node across the atria and then travels down the middle of the heart(cant remember the correct name for that) and stimulates the AV node where the signal is "regrouped" and sent across the ventricles. I...

College classes with an EMT's schedule?

Thats a really good point, actually! So you had to leave EMS to pursue school? With that schedule it does seem pretty impossible to work in EMS...

College classes with an EMT's schedule?

Hmm, that is a way to do it. Where theres a will theres a way, right? I know that shift swaps would be possible for me, I just dont know how many I could do before people started to get tired of covering for me.. Have you fun into that at all?

    Need Basic EMT Book

I found that the Mosby book didnt have nearly the amount of info the Emergency Care book had. After reading just the Mosby book I tried doing the quizes on emtb.com and it made me realize just how little info is in that book.. Or maybe the Emergency Care just has so much MORE info.. I look...

    Need Basic EMT Book

I have both the Brady text book and Emergency Care and Transport. I got the Brady one for studying on my own, and the Emergency Care from my class. After reading both of them, Emergency Care and Transport is by FAR the better of the two. The Brady book is basically a mini summary compared to...

College classes with an EMT's schedule?

Ok, this better not turn into a debate, but.... Im planning on getting my medic license and then start classes for either nursing, or premed classes for PA school. Pre-hospital is my passion and thats why I want to go through medic school first, but I dont want to be so limited in my education...
