Clark County, Nevada EMS (Las Vegas)

I’m most trying to find out concrete information from current or past employees on pay, incentives, and relation with management. Community ambulance has a salary listing, but AMR doesn't. Trying to figure out which one pays better or has better incentives for OT. Community also advertises a 3...

Clark County, Nevada EMS (Las Vegas)

Just curious if anyone has any insight or currently works in the Las Vegas system that I could ask some questions too. CA EMT who just finished my medic internship and just have to take my registry. Been looking to move to las vegas as a new medic for experience (And lower COL lol). I’m aware...

    FP-C and CCP-C

I appreciate the info. I kinda guessed it’s not really worth it to do it early. I plan on staying up on my knowledge, studying on my own, and taking classes in order to get myself ready for flight and the critical care knowledge. And there’s more than just scope of practice in CA for my move...

    FP-C and CCP-C

Hey Medic student here who’s hitting internship soon. Was just curious from you medics out there who hold either of these certs. I would like to do flight in a few years and plan on trying to keep up with studying and my education after medic school. I’ve looked at IA-Med’s courses for the...

    AMR Riverside

It kinda depends on staffing and each division. I’m at the Riverside Division and i only just got part-time like 2 months ago for medic school and i’ve been there for a year and a half full-time. I have a friend who got hired as part time around the same time as me but staffing was good at the...

    AMR Riverside

Everyone summed it up pretty well. Each division’s pay is different but it all equals out about the same. Riverside Division starts emts at $19.50 but our OT is after 40 hours. Hemet is at $17.00 but their OT is after 8hrs on a 12.

    Hey San Diegans

I’m currently working riverside as a Basic, but if you’ve been out for awhile. Falck recently took a good portion of south county from AMR. AMR is still there, but I’m not sure what they cover anymore. As far as north county. North County Fire Protection District (Falbrook) has Single Role...

    Anyone work at Symbiosis? (OC)

Haven’t worked here, but my best friend did in San Diego for a year. It’s all IFT. He did get to do stand by at a Rave which he said was cool. Its pretty much just a BLS company with some CCT. Their main operations from what he told me now is in Redlands and they’ll make you go out of county...

    San Diego EMS Curiosity

Still curious as well lol, I really want to work ground when I finish medic school down there, but idk how I’ll afford it. I found on Reddit that I think Falck is starting medics at 21hr. And as for the people I’ve talked to at north county fire (fallbrook) I think their single role medics are...

Highest paying medic Jobs in CA?

Thank you! I’m excited to start, I’m really ready to move on from a basic and start doing the cool things you medics do lol. I’m just tired of not being able to do much on calls and I want to do more. And I’ve heard that as well with Hemet. I’m in the riverside division so we’re the unionized...

Highest paying medic Jobs in CA?

So I’m asking because I got denied from nursing school (All the ADN programs I applied to) and plan on starting medic school at Ben Clark (Moreno Valley College) this August. Does anyone know the highest paying agencies in CA? I’m probably gonna stay at my AMR division in Riverside for a bit (I...

    12 Lead EKG Electrode Placement

He pretty much explained it as a different view of the heart. But I’ve worked with CCT who preferred torso leads for that reason. He told me as well the only time he’s even gotten lash for torso leads was from a doctor. But that doctor was just kinda anal about everything.

    12 Lead EKG Electrode Placement

Very interesting thread. Im a basic and was so adamant on correct anatomical position when I first started, but I’ve become lazy and I’ve asked 2 of my previous medic partners how much it affects the 12-lead if the placement isn’t in the actual intercostal space. And both have told me as long as...

    San Diego EMS Curiosity

That’s insane how low it is. San Diego’s cost of living I’d think is way higher than Riverside. My AMR division starts EMT’s at 19.50 right now.

    San Diego EMS Curiosity

Was curious if anyone knows how pay and the EMS system is down in San Deigo? I know is super split between a bunch of companies and some fire departments transport their own like San Marcos. Just out curiosity if anyone knows how Falck has been doing since they took over a few of the zones. My...

Challenging the P-Card with an RN in California

I appreciate the information. This is what I was told as well. That for the most part the internship is the only required part, but finding a school that will allow it is a whole different story. Regardless I’ll see where my career takes me. Thank you for the info here.

Challenging the P-Card with an RN in California

I was just curious if anyone here has actually done this. I’ve been an EMT for about a year and a half now and I’m about to start nursing school in fall (hopefully I get accepted). I’ve heard a lot about how a Nurse can challenge a Paramedic license since technically speaking nursing is a...

What do Palm Desert & Riverside (SoCal) Opportunities Look Like?

Overall if you’re a newer medic I think this is a really great county for experience. I used to work in Orange County and have become a far better EMT since I’ve came to riverside since OC is all BLS 911 ambulances and riverside is ALS. I actually got to run my first full arrest with my...

What do Palm Desert & Riverside (SoCal) Opportunities Look Like?

Pay is different between the divisions. I think Hemet and Palm Springs are the same since they’re non-union again I don’t work there so I don’t know. For Riverside we’re straight pay until 40 hrs and anything after is time-half. We get double time after 12 however in 1 shift. For the most part...

What do Palm Desert & Riverside (SoCal) Opportunities Look Like?

Do you mean turnover as in how long people tend to last at the company? It’s AMR so retention is always an issue. We’re currently extremely understaffed on the Medic side due to a lot of people jumping ship with the vaccine mandate as well as fire departments hiring as a lot of people in EMS in...
