This is not going smooth! I cannot find any information on re-taking the practicals. I'll try to contact the appropriate people where I went through the course.
I know this, as I already completed my practicals at the end of my EMS class, but I waited a year to take the NREMT cognitive test(and passed), only to find out my practicals expired and I need to retake them in order to be certified.
Thank you MedicBender! I'll try to contact them. This is a vicious circle- No sooner that I pass one thing that I end up having to retake another! I guess practice makes perfect.
Hello,
I passed the NREMT cognitive exam, but unfortunately my practicals expired just before I took the test. Where at am I able to re-take the practicals? Trying to find info on National Registry site is like pulling teeth. I can find no useful information, and I DO NOT want to retake the...
I Passed the NREMT! Now it's saying I need to re-do the practicals as it was a year since I was tested on them. Any advice? I feel like it's one road block after another.
So, no matter what I perform the initial assessment?
It does help, Thank you!
I think it will be easier once I'm doing ride alongs and seeing/doing it first hand. I appreciate all the help.
I'm getting confused on when to use the different assessments. I've been taking practice tests and there have been a few questions where it asks me what assessment I would use first. Initial assessment, Trauma assessment, secondary assessment...
Thanks for your reply. I'll have to look through my book and find out the different sizes. I'll be testing for my EMT-B certification in a few weeks. I've been trying to not overwhelm myself with too much information, yet still retain all the necessary information. I've been studying in little...
Is this correct? Wouldn't you use a BVM for a pt that is having difficulty breathing?
3.Apply oxygen devices as you normally would without the benefit of a pulse oximeter reading.
Patients who exhibit difficulty breathing, or any signs of circulatory difficulty, should receive high-flow...
I'm getting ready to take the National Registry test and I was wondering if they post any questions about the size and capacity of the oxygen tanks EMS uses? I can't find information about the size and capacity of the tanks to study, as my book is in storage. I've pretty much got everything else...
I'm actually working on an out-line for a disaster aid course i'm currently taking. But since i have no experience as an EMT/Fire, I have no clue as to where to start.I've got 4 weeks left of EMT-B left, then i take the state exam. This disaster aid course is just an extra class i chose to...
But what are the steps taken. For instance, When a tornado warning is issued- what the steps in the process you take.Who makes the decisions for your group? Do you have a disaster response plan?
What kind of role does the EMT/Paramedic play in the event of a tornado? Does your agency have a disaster aid plan? I'm currently trying to figure out the chain of events that happen during a tornado, such as National weather alert, then what? <_< I'm new to this so any help would be greatly...
