Define "alright". When I was 18 working as an EMT making 8.50/hr I worked a ton of over time and thought I was doing "alright". I also lived at home and had very little actual bills. 9/hr equates to about 20k a yr give or take.
I know my old division would have taken me back but I had moved back in VenCo for this job, and I wasn't about to commute 3hrs to palm springs, or move back out there. Depends on where you work some stations will do 12-15 calls a day others will do 1-3. Move ups are a killer I had one day where...
Nope I never any bad performance reviews, and was even told I was recommended to do my level 2 upgrade ASAP. I was called into the office and told "its just not working out for you". During the orientation the union guy came in and pretty much told us that if anyone has an issue with you in the...
I was hired with 12 people and 8 of us were fired... and that is about the same for the two hiring groups after me. I also transferred from another division. Loved it while I was there though, heard they are going through some serious changes.
Well seeing that last year an FBI agent stood up at an LACO EMS meeting and basically gave everyone a heads up that they are coming after all the shady companies this comes to no surprise, he said that there are more private ambulances in LaCo than taxies. So welcome to the start of the...
!?!?!?! what? Rialaigh you sound a bit paranoid.
Do you go drink in uniform? Do you hand out business cards with all your info on them stating you are a medic?
But for the sake of this being the interweb lets say you answered yes to one of the questions above. Which story would...
Ummm why would it matter? you have no duty to act (not to open that bag of worms) but as it clearly stated nobody knew you were affiliated with EMS. This is exactly why when I got out to get "weird" I just tell people I am a blimp pilot. Many times Iv seen girls in bars have syncopal episodes...
quoted from their website....
"Fire Response/911 Transportation Provider
Through an agreement with the San Pasqual Fire District we provide primary 9-1-1 Ambulance Transport Services for San Pasqual Fire. Under contract with the County of San Diego we are also a Primary 9-1-1 BLS provider...
Can we please stop perpetuating rumors like this? Because what happens is some gullible new EMT reads stuff like this and spreads it around like wild fire, and or makes his decision on where to apply thinking that because he read that "care was taking over LAFD BLS transport" he will be able to...
Why would a hospital or private BLS company pay you more because you have ACLS and PALS as an EMT.... you cant do anything with those classes besides get CE for them. You could have saved that money and spent it on your kids... or medic school.
Love it! But it's up to them to make the most out of it. Come with a good attitude ready to learn and ask questions and I will let you chat my ear off until you need to leave... But if you show up with a poor attitude or an "I know it all" attitude and it will be a very long silent day for you...
